Govt. departments should coordinate and use funds effectively- Collector Panda.

Gadchiroli Jan. 16 (District Correspondent) There is a huge scope for development works in Gadchiroli district and various departments should coordinate with each other and make proper use of the District Planning Development Fund to get the works on track, said District Collector Avishyant Panda while addressing a meeting of the government officials at the collectorate here the other day.

Mr. Panda gave several directives to the administrative agencies in this meeting. He emphasized on the development of infrastructure in the district and asked for proper planning for the projects and effective use of funds.

District Collector reviewed the expenditure of funds approved by the District Planning Committee to various departments in a marathon meeting. He instructed the department heads to first demand the liability amount and then register new works on the iPASS system on priority and spend the received funds urgently.

Also, the Planning Department was asked to immediately distribute the funds of the works that have received administrative approval to the concerned departments on the BDS system in accordance with the funds received. He also suggested that since mining employment in the district is expected to increase significantly in the coming time, the Skill Development Department should start training related to mining, the Public Works Department should make special plans for the conservation of tourist sites and forts in the district, and the District Library should make efforts to build a well-equipped and modern library.

Mr. Panda gave clear instructions on this occasion that all the offices which have been allotted funds for development works should immediately obtain technical and administrative approval for the expenditure of the funds. He also instructed the concerned departments to contact him directly if there are any problems regarding the availability of funds, administrative approval or any other problems in this regard.

District Planning Officer Shriram Pachkhede and officers of other departments were present at the meeting.
