
Gadchiroli June 8 (District Correspondent) The Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) has received maximum prizes for its outstanding work and services of instilling scientific approach among the citizens and removing superstition from them. The activists of the MANS were presented these prizes at the state level convention held at Lonkheda in Nandurbar district recently.
Like every year, this year too, the Gadchiroli unit and its branches implemented the activities in the district to develop scientific approach and remove superstition. Also, the activists succeeded in getting maximum subscription of the monthly magazine of MANS Andhashraddha Nirmulaan Patrika in the district.
Taking cognizance of all this work, as many as 7 workers from Gadchiroli district were honoured with the Shatakveer Award, one was given the Lakshadhi Karyakarta Award and the Gadchiroli city branch was honoured with the Lakshadhi Shakha Award. The activists were presented memento and a citation at the hands of social worker Dr. Medha Patkar.
This award winner activists include Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, Govindrao Brahmanwade, Vilas Parkhi, Haridas Kotrange, from Gadchiroli, Santosh Chikate (Allapalli), Chetan Dongarwar (Purada), Ravindra Somankar (Ghot), Motiram Tarakaduji Nahamurte (Uradi) etc.
Even though Gadchiroli district is known as backward one and the activists do not get any kind of financial assistance, they have been going to schools, colleges and villages and doing the work of eliminating superstition effectively. Also, Gadchiroli district has received the maximum awards because it has made a lot of efforts to significantly increase the number of readers of the MANS magazine during this year.
Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, Shivram Mongarkar, Ashif Syed, Ms. Sudhatai Chaudhari, Shankar Chaudhari, Jayshree Yerme, Bharat Yerme, Lahu Ramteke, Haridas Kotrange, Anil Akkewar, Vasudev Tadse, Upendra Rohankar, Prashant Naitam, were present at the award distribution programme.
