Gadchiroli Dec. 28 (District Correspondent) The cotton purchasing centre has finally been sanctioned by Cotton corporation of India (CCI) at village Ankhoda in Chamorshi taluka. This has given much relief to the cotton growers of the district who were compelled to sale their cotton in lesser rates.
Director of State Marketing Federation Atul Ganyarpawar has been making necessary follow up with the concerned authorities to get the cotton purchasing centre in the district and his efforts have finally bore fruits.
Though there was a considerable cotton production in the district, farmers had to sale their production to the private purchasers outside the district. In this the farmers had to suffer a heavy financial loss.
Mr. Ganyarpawar had demanded the opening of cotton purchasing centre in the district of Gadchiroli itself to stop this loss of the cotton growers. He had sent the memorandums to the CCI state and central offices and also the district collector of Gadchiroli. A chakka jam agitation was also planned by him on behalf of the farmers.
Considering the need of the farmers, the CCI finally sanctioned the cotton purchasing centre at village Ankhoda in Chamorshi taluka very recently. The letter regarding this was sent to Mr. Ganyarpawar by Mr. Neeraj Kumar, General Manager of CCI, Akola.
Mr. Ganyarpawar has thanked the CCI for opening this purchase centre in the district and has called upon the farmers to avail the benefit of this centre.
