Gadchiroli Feb. 13 (District correspondent) The Filarai Removal Campaign was launched at Chamorshi at the hands of Gadchiroli MLA Dr. Deorao Holi recently.

Dr. Dawal Salwe, district Health Officer, Dr. Kunal modak, district Malaria Officer, Dr. Mahendra Dewlikar, Filaria Officer, Dr. Prafulla hulke, Taluka Health Officer were prominently present on the occasion.

The filaria removal campaign is being taken up between Fe. 10 and 20 under National Vector borne Diseases Controls Programme.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. holi said filaria is a very dangerous disease which has its physical and mental impact on the people. If no timely treatment is taken on this disease man’s life becomes meaningless. It is therefore necessary to eradicate this disease and every citizen should cooperate the health department in this task.

As many as 1.62 lakhs of people in 53 sub centers under 7 PHCs in Chamorshi taluka are going to be distributed anti filaria tablets. The children below two years of age, pregnant mothers, persons with serious diseases are not allowed to consume these tablets, told Dr. Hulke.

The health department officials have called upon the people to cooperate the health officials during the campaign and make the campaign successful.
