Gadchiroli May 25 (District Correspondent) The farmers in Armori taluka dashed to the Tehsildar’s office demanding early solar power connection for their agriculture pumps.
Many farmers of the taluka have already paid required fees for their solar agriculture pumps but no actual connection has been provided to them due to which they have been suffering as they are not able to irrigate their lands. Many of the farmers cultivated their farm with vegetables and other crops but they could not provide irrigation to these crops.
The government started the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Pump and Pradhan Mantri Agriculture Pump Yojana for which the farmers applied online and after paying the online payment they were told to conduct a survey and install the solar agriculture pumps immediately. But the farmers have not yet been supplied the connection and the long pending demands of the farmers were completely ignored.
Irked over this negligence, the farmers met the Armori In charge Tehsildar Haridas Donadkar recently along with former Dy. Sarpanch of Kaswi Praveen Rahate and submitted him a memorandum demanding early connection of solar power supply. Taking cognizance of the issue, Mr. Donadkar immediately spoke to the office at Chandrapur and asked to provide solar agriculture pump connection immediately.
