Gadchiroli June 6 (District Correspondent) Due to the alertness of the Gadchiroli SP Nilotpal, a fake transfer order issued in the name of the Home Department itself was detected in a short period of time.
The Cyber Cell and Local Crime Branch (LCB) of the Gadchiroli Police then detected this case of online cheating and arrested the cheater for the crime.
It so happened that the Gadchiroli police had received an e -mail from the office of the Department of Home Affairs, government of Maharashtra regarding the transfers of two police officials – namely Jamil Pathan from Dhodraj Police Assistance Centre to Naxal Cell, Gadchiroli and another of Minaxi Poreddiwar from Jambia Gatta to DIG office, Gadchiroli.
However, Mr. Nilotpal had suspicion over these transfer orders as this mail was not posted from the government mail- id nor the transfers of the Police Amaldars are done by the Home Department. The SP then ordered the PSI of Gadchiroli Police Station Nilesh Wagh to enquire the matter.
The enquiry was thus started and during its course, PSI Sagar Awahd personally approached the concerned office of the home Department in Mumbai. It was found during this visit that the home Department had nor sent any such e mail and the signature on the transfer order was also bogus.
After this finding, an offence was registered with the Gadchiroli Police Station and the investigation was handed over to the LCB Inspector Bhusari. It was found during the enquiry that the said e- mail was sent from the private internet café of Bramhapuri. After this the investigating officer focused on the police officials whose fake transfer orders were issued and one Sandeep Waddelwar was taken into custody from Wanashree Colony of Gadchiroli.
During interrogation, Sanddep admitted his crime upon which he was arrested and was produced before the Judicial Magistrate here who remanded the accused to police custody of 4 days.
The accused is a husband of the woman police employee mentioned in the transfer order. Whether the said woman police employee is personally involved into the matter or not is being ascertained by the police.
The fake transfer has become a matter of wide discussion in the police department.
