Dr. Namdeo Usendi meets Tribal Development Minister, discusses various issues.

Gadchiroli Aug. 24 (District Correspondent) General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and former MLAS Dr. Namdeo Usendi has demanded early opening of the tribal student’s hostels in the district to enable the students to attend their educational institutions.

Dr. Usendi called on Dr. Vijayakumar Gavit, Minister for Tribal Development Maharashtra State recently at Mumbai and discussed the issue with him. Dr. Usendi also greeted the Minister on his recent assuming the office of the Minister and held detailed discussions on various other problems of the tribal people.

The schools and colleges in Gadchiroli district have already opened for the last two months since the academic session of 2022-2023 started, yet the tribal hostel in the district have not been started. Due to this, tribal students are suffering academically, pointed out Dr. Usendi. All the hostels in the district should therefore be started immediately and the students be saved from their academic loss, demanded Dr. Usendi.

In this discussion Dr. Usendi also raised the other issues related to the tribal students and demanded that the amount of school and college uniform of the students of the previous semester should be immediately deposited in their bank accounts. The students who have passed class 10 from the standardized schools should be given admission in standardized schools itself for their education up to 12 th class, the DBT scheme of tribal hostels should be stopped, he further demanded.

Dr. Usendi also discussed with the Minister on how can comprehensive development of tribals be achieved. Mr. Gavit gave patient hearing to Dr. Usendi and assured him to look into the matter.
