Gadchiroli Oct. 25 (District Correspondent) A Diwali festival was organized by District Women and Child Development Office Gadchiroli in collaboration with Lions Club Gadchiroli at Lokmangal Ahilya Devi Balasadan, Ghot in Chamorshi taluka the other day.
The programme was organized so that women and children in the working organizations of Women and Child Development Department could enjoy this Diwali like the other citizens. The program was celebrated enthusiastically in the institution to add the happiness of the children. During the last two years, Diwali could not be celebrated due to Corona epidemic. So this year Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
The program was organized according to the instructions of the Minister for Women and Child Development Department and Commissioner, Women and Child Development and on the orders of the District Magistrate, Gadchiroli under the guidance of District Women Child Development Officer Prakash Bhandakkar. The members of Lions Club Gadchiroli and the famous businessman of Gadchiroli Praful Sarada extended the necessary cooperation in this celebration.
On this occasion new clothes, snacks were distributed to the children of the Bal Sadan and sarees and snacks were distributed to the women of Swadhar Griha Ghot. The said children and women were guided by the members of Child Welfare Committee. The staff of the Child Protection Cell, as well as the officials of the Lions Club Gadchiroli and the staff of the organization participated in the said program.
