Gadchiroli Jan. 31 (District Correspondent) The annual function of Dharmarao Vidhalaya and Junior College Sironcha was inaugurated at the hands of Raje Amrish Rao Atram, former Minister of state recently. Mr. Awadhesh Rao Baba Atram was the chief guest.

On this occasion, the students of Dharmarao Vidyalaya warmly welcomed the guests with Lazim dance and flowers.

Speaking on the occasion, Raje Amrishrao Atram said that when schools were not available in Gadchiroli district, the first school was started in 1958 by Dharmarao Shikshan Mandal during the reign of Late Vishveshwar Rao Maharaj. Dharmarao Shikshan planted the saplings of schools which has now become a huge tree and the work of education is being done in Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts.

In the opening speech of the function, principal of the school, G J Tagre, recalled the contribution of late Dharmarao Maharaj, Visheshwarrao Maharaj and Satyawan Maharaj of the royal family in the establishment of Dharmarao Shikshan Mandal and thereby providing the facilities of sducation to the students in remote tribal areas.

Retired Principal Papayya Naredla, who was the guest of honor, guided that the Sneh Sammelan is organized for the all-round development of the students.

Mr. Irfan, while expressing his thoughts said that since the establishment, Dharmarao School in Sironcha has focused on many students and created many sportsmen. There are about 4000 students from Sironcha taluka are working in different high positions, he said and added that all the students will always be indebted to Dharmarao Shikshan Mandal and the royal family.

Dharmarao Vidyalaya had won the first place in the national program on 26th January for which the teacher students of the school and senior journalist Mohammad Irfan, who outlined the program, were felicitated by Raje Amrishrao Maharaj on this occasion.

Around 40 different dances and songs were performed in the programme by the students. The students were felicitated by Raje Amrish Rao Maharaj with the cash prizes.

Nagar Panchayat Vice President Bablu Bhai Pasha, senior leader Babar Bhai and Retired Principal Papaya Naredla, Madar Sir, Rangu Bapana, BJP Taluka President Shankar Bhau Narhari and Aheri Taluka President Ravi Nelkundari, BJP Joint Secretary Sandeep Bhau were also present on the occasion. Former Mayor Raju Pedapalli, Police Inspector Vishwas Jadhav, Police Sub-Inspector Kande, Principal G.J Tagre were present on the dais.
