Gadchiroli May 5 (District Correspondent) Maharashtra’s Cabinet Minister Dharamraobaba Atram was honoured with the prestigious ‘Best People’s Leader Award- 2024’ at the 16th Newsmakers Achievers Award ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Atram shared the story of his struggles, recounting how he rose from Nagpur to become a beloved leader in Gadchiroli. He mentioned the incident of being held captive by Naxalites for 17 days and the transformative journey that ensued. Atram expressed profound gratitude for the recognition, having travelled 1400 kilometres to receive the award.
In Gadchiroli, he has provided jobs to five thousand families in mining, and he remains committed to the welfare and employment of his people, it was informed in the programme while giving details of the work done by Mr. Atram.
The 16th Newsmakers Achievers Award was held recently at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium in Mumbai. The event, organized by Dr. Vaidehi Taman, celebrated several achievers, including Dharamraobaba Atram.
It should be mentioned here that a biographical film on Mr. Atram titled “Dharamrao Baba Atram – Dilon Ka Raja ” chronicles his life, depicting the arduous 17-day ordeal in Naxalite captivity and his journey thereafter.
