Gadchiroli Nov. 8 (District correspondent) A huge ‘Bullock Cart Dhadak Morcha’ was taken out on Tehsil office of Armori on Tuesday by the Congress Committee to press various issues of the people.
The morcha started from Ram Mandir of Armori and proceeded to the Tehsil office shouting slogans of demands under the leadership of Mr. Milind Khobragade, Taluka President and Dilip Ghodam, district vice President of the congress Party. The Congress leaders and workers drove the bullock carts that were decorated with the party flags and banners throughout the morcha that attracted the attention of all the people.
On reaching the Tehsil office, a memorandum of demands was submitted to the Tehsildar Shrihari Mane. The main demands included- load shedding of agricultural pump should be stopped and electricity be supplied for 16 hours daily instead of 8 hours, immediate compensation should be given to the farmers who have suffered losses in Dongargaon -Thanegaon liftirrigation scheme, basic paddy procurement centres should be started immediately.
The demands also included that the caste based census be conducted, land in Armori town be allotted to their occupants, exorbitantly charged agriculture power supply bills be waived off, channelling fencing be provided to the farmers in forest areas, 5 brass sand be provided to the gharkul beneficiaries, immediate benefits should be given under PM Kisan Yojana, crop insurance amount should be given to farmers immediately, drought should be declared immediately, special crop insurance scheme should be implemented for crop damage caused by wild animals and arrangements of the wild animals be done, prices of gas for domestic use and fuel be reduced, recruitment of government posts be conducted and unemployed youths be given jobs,
The morcha was culminated into a public meeting in front of the Tehsil office. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Dr. Namdev Kirsan, Former MLA Anandrao Gedam, District Congress Committee President Mahendra Brahmanwade, District Congress Vice President Dilip Ghodam, Kisan Congress District President Wamanrao Savasakde, State Secretary Dr. Nitin Kodawte, Former Z P Vice President Manohar Patil Poretti addressed the meeting and demanded to solve the issues raised by the morcha.
District Congress Secretary Harbaji More, Transport Department District President Rupesh Tikle, City Congress Committee President Shalik Patre, Mahila Congress Roshni Bais, Vrindatai Gajbhiye, Mukeshji Waghade, Nandu Narote, Gadchiroli Taluka Congress Committee President Vasant Raut, Desaiganj Taluka Congress Committee President Rajendra Bulle, Digheshwar Dhait, Pinku Bawane, Vishweshwar Darro and a large number of office bearers, activists of the Congress party along with the people and farmers from Armori taluka participated in the morcha.
