Gadchiroli April 18 (District Correspondent) Computer sets and books were distributed from the local development fund of MLC Abhijeet Vanjari in a programme held at the Niyojan Bhavan here on Thursday as a part of ‘Kartavyapurti Samarambha’.
Teachers MLC Sudhakar Adabale, District Congress President Mahendra Brahmanwade, Secretary of Govindrao Vanjari Foundation Dr. Hemant Sonare were prominently present on the stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vanjari said as his membership is related to education, he has resolved to spend the funds only for educational purposes. To fulfil this resolution, every year in all six districts of the constituency, he has been distributing books that are currently needed in libraries and computers with the aim of increasing the technical knowledge of students in rural areas. This initiative has been going on for the last five years, he informed.
There are good educational facilities in urban areas. However, even today, rural areas do not have the facilities. Children in villages have to go to taluka or district places. Recognizing this need, to strengthen rural schools in terms of computer education, computers are being distributed. Moreover, the library has the same old books for the last several years. To make necessary books available to libraries in the district books have been distributed.
Mr. Adbale also spoke on the occasion. This ceremony is a vivid example of how and where funds can be used properly, he said. He appealed to the beneficiary schools and libraries to provide this benefit to the students.
The programme was conducted and introduced by Dr. Hemant Sonare. Teachers, employees, office bearers and workers attended the programme.
