Gadchiroli Nov. 20 (District Correspondent) “Mahapuja” written by playwright Chudaram Balharpure has been announced the first prize for drama writing which is considered to be a special honour in the field of literature in Maharashtra.
President of Sahitya Vihar Ms. Ashatai Pandey and Secretary Manda Khandare have informed in a letter that on November 30 next, award distribution ceremony will be held at Baburao Dhanwate Auditorium, Nagpur. The form of this award is cash, badge, certificate and gift of books.
‘Mahapuja’ is a popular grand play in which 51 artists and 15 technicians have worked. There have been more than 100 shows of this play in east Vidarbha known as Zadipatti.
Notably, two plays “Gondwanacha Mahayoddha – Krantiveer Baburao Shedmake” and “Dharti Aba Krantisurya – Birsa Munda” written by Chudaram Balharpure have received many awards for playwriting at various levels. This is the first award for ‘Mahapuja’.
