Gadchiroli April 6 The birth anniversary of Chakravarty Smarta Ashok, the great Emperor who embraced Buddhism and then spread the Dhamma all over the world, was celebrated by the district unit of All India Republican Party here on Saturday.
The national president of the Republican Party Balasaheb Khobragade and Central vice President Rohidas Raut garlanded the portrait of Samrat Ashok and lighted the lamp to pay respect to the great hero.
state vice president of the Republican Party Kulpati Meshram, regional vice president prof. Prakash Dudhe, secretary Prof. Rajan Borkar, Gadchiroli Assembly incharge Pradeep Bhaisare, district general secretary Pralhad Raipure, office secretary Ashok Khobragade, youth front president Narendra Raipure, secretary Punyawan Sorte were prominently present.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Khobragade described Samrat Ashoka as the great Emperor in the Indian history and said he has lions share in spreading the Buddhism in different parts of the world. The great emperor built thousands of buddha viharas in the country and other parts of the world. It is necessary to follow his path for the welfare of the human society.
