Gadchiroli Nov. 1 (District Correspondent) The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has been taken out under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with a motive to create confidence and trust in the Constitution of India among the people, said Mr. Mukul Wasnik, General Secretary of the All-India Congress Committee while addressing the Congress workers meet at Maharaja Lawns here on Monday.
Mr. Marotrao Kowase, former MP, presided over the programme whi;e Dr. Namdeo Usendi, Dr. Namdeo Kirsan, General Secretaries of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress committee, Mahendra Bramhanwade, District Congress President, Subhash Dhote, MLA and Convenor of the Yatra, Anandrao Gedam, former MLA, Ravindra Darekar, Satish Vidhate, City chief were prominently present.
Mr. Wasnik further said the leaders who participated in the freedom struggle of India wanted to maintain the unity and integrity as well as independence and freedom of the country. These principles are now come under threat and there is a sort of fear in the minds of the people. To remove this atmosphere of fear and to recreate confidence among the citizens, Rahul Gandhi has taken out this yatra and has been evoking tremendous response from the public.
This yatra will start from Nanded and is going to pass through the state of Maharashtra between Nov. 12 and 20 next. On 17 th November, the yatra will pass through Balapur in Akola district and the workers from Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Bhandara and Gondia districts will participate in it, it was told on the occasion.
As many as 5,000 Congress workers from Gadchiroli district will participate in the yatra, it was told by the organizers. A large number of Congress workers attended the meet.
