Anis workers celebrate Diwali with age old people, tribals.

Gadchiroli Oct. 28 (District Correspondent) The workers of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti celebrated Diwali festival with the age-old inmates of the Vriddhashrama here recently.

Every year this festival is celebrated at Matoshree Old Age Home in Gadchiroli by Maharashtra Andhasraddha Nirmulan Samiti. This year too, the activists of the Samiti visited the Vriddhashrama and distributed snacks to the inmates living there and spent some time with them.

On this occasion Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, State Co-ordinator of Maha Anis Scientific Awareness Education Project, District Working President Vitthalrao Kothare, District Vice President Vivek Moon, City President Mr. Shabbir Sheikh, Vice President Mr. Lahuji Ramteke were prominently present.

The workers also visited Markegaon, a tribal village in Dhanora taluka and distributed sweets to the villagers. The activists told the villagers about the ill effects of pollution caused by the crackers bursted on Diwali and called upon the villagers to celebrate pollution free Diwali.

The information on superstition eradication, misconceptions about snakes, scientific approach etc was also given by the Samiti workers during this visit. The villagers welcomed the workers with a traditional tribal dance during this visit and thanked them for their visit.

Prominently present on the occasion were Dr. Shiwnath Kumbhare, District Advisor of Samiti, Govindrao Bramhanwade, Prof. Sandhya Yelekar, Pandit Pudke, Prof. Vilas Parkhi, Vivek Moon, Purushottam Chaudhary, Kamlakar Warke, Upendra Rohankar, Priyanka Nimorkar, Grishma Moon, Pushpatai Kumre and many other ANIS workers.
