Gadchiroli Feb. 24 (District Correspondent) A grand Kabaddi tournament was organized at Kokobanda, a remote village in Etapalli taluka recently.
The tournament was inaugurated at the hands of former Minister of State Raje Ambrishrao Maharaj. Ms. Vanita Hichami, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Kohka, Prashant Atram, Dy. Sarpanch Gram Panchayat Todsa, Mohan Namewar, Ravi Nelkudri Aheri Taluka President of BJP, Santosh Maddiwar BJP General Secretary, Guddu Thackeray were prominently present.
Raje ambrishrao guided the youths in his opening speech and he appealed to use the enthusiasm and sense of unity created during the games for the overall progress of the area. He praised the local youth for organizing the grand tournament in a remote village. He also assured that if the local people take initiative for the development of the locality, they will always get full support.
This being the first visit of Raje ambrishrao to the village, the villagers welcomed him in a traditional manner with great jubilation by taking out a procession.
As soon as the youths of remote areas like Kokobanda expressed their desire to hold a kabaddi tournament, Raje immediately promised them help and their invitation was accepted, told the youths.
The locals said that he was the first leader to visit that remote area. Raje Saheb personally visited Kokobanda and other remote villages and got to know the problems there. He showed readiness to help for the development of the area in every possible way.
Also present on the occasion were Vinod Jillewar, Sanjay Pohnekar, Lakshmi Kumare, Annapurna Mohule, Devnath Sonule, Raju Narote, Dehu Gawde , Manguram Usendi, Nanaji Kudayami, Ashok Madavi, Janali Narote, Sanku Pungathi, Lata Pungathi, Mukesh Kawle, Ashimi Narote, Isru Potavi, Sudhakar Narote, Anil Gawde, Rakesh Narote, Ramdas Gota and the villagers in large number.
