Gadchiroli April 2 (District Correspondent) Akhil Bhartiya Adiwasi Yuwa Parishad has demanded immediate transfer of the In charge Head Master of Jawaharlal Nehru Municipal School, Gadchiroli Sudhir Gohne and thorough enquiry into the alleged misappropriation of funds and financial loot of the students and their parents.
Addressing a press conference at the Press Club here this afternoon, after submitting a detailed memorandum to the municipal chief officer, Mr. Kunal Kowe, district president of the Yuwa Parishad told Gohne has been working as the in-charge head master of the said school for the last 25 years continuously but he has not been transferred as yet, though other 46 teachers have been transferred to other schools.
There have been many complaints against Gohne about illegal collection of funds from the parents and misappropriation of those funds, but no any action has been taken against him because he is the close relative of the Chief Officer of municipal council, Kowe alleged, showing bunch of receipts of the funds collected and other documents to the media persons.
This school is not a private school and no any finds can be recovered from the backward class students as per law. Free and compulsory education is given in the government schools, but Gohne has been blatantly violating these rules, for his own benefit, pointed out Kowe.
Gohne has recovered Rs. 300 from the students for identity cards, shown the expenditure of thousands of rupees on sanitary pads though the school does not require it as it is a primary school, shown purchase of uniforms though they are already provided by the government, he has shown many other unwanted expenses and grabbed the funds, alleged Kowe.
Gohne has printed receipt books illegally for the funds collection without any permission of the municipal authorities. Many public representatives and the district collector himself have asked the municipal chief officer to transfer Gohne and take action against him, but no any action has yet been taken against him, Kowe told and demanded his immediate suspension from services. He warned intensive agitation if no action is taken.
Besides the collection of funds, the school has received handsome amount of funds from the government but that money also has been unwantedly spent with no any audit, he informed.
Also present at the press conference were Mr. Gulab Madavi, Rupesh Salame, Badal Madavi, Adv. Girish Joge, Parag Kannake, Mohit Masram.
When asked about this, in charge CO of municipal council Archana Mule told that the matter will be enquired and necessary action will be taken.
