Gadchiroli April 13 (District Correspondent)  Pradnyasurya Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar treated Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Fule as his Guru because of his thoughts of social equality. Today the birth anniversaries of both these great social reformers are being celebrated jointly is really a revolutionary thing and it will help to propagate the idea of social equality said central vice president of Republican Party Rohidas Raut.

He was delivering a presidential speech at Mahtama Fule and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti programme at village Sonerangi in Kurkheda taluka recently.

Mr. Jeevan Patil Naat, former vice president of Zilla Parishad, Dr. Dashrath Ade of Munghate College, Guatam Meshram of Sanvidhan Foundation, Tularam Raut of Bouddha Mahasabha, Prabhakar Tulawi, former chairman of panchayat Samiti, Jayant Harde of taluka congress committee, Prof. Anil Holi, tribal activist, Nanduji Masram, innovative school teacher, Gurudeo Nikode, Shalik Janbandhu were prominently present.

Mr. Raut further said both Mahatma Fule and Dr. Babasaheb struggled amidst tremendous social odds and went ahead tirelessly for the rights of the Dalits and depressed classes. Their work will keep inspiring for the years to come.

Dr. Dashrath Ade mentioned that the Satyashodhak movement launched by Mahatma Fule and Buddhism adopted by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar are two important events in the modern history. Both these movements were started as a revolt against the orthodox caste system prevailing in the society. Both the movements will go ahead for the next generations because of their ideals of equality and fraternity, he hoped.

Mr. Gautam Meshram underlined the importance of the Constitution of India and said the people have got their rights to live with dignity because of this national document. It is highly needed to reach the constitution to every household to make the citizens aware of their rights and duties, he appealed.

The other guests also expressed their views on the occasion. A musical programme of well-known singer Vicky Bhaisare ‘Ujalali Dhammajyot Bhim Swaranchi’ was presented in the night which evoked tremendous response from the audience.

Mr. Sharad Jambhulkar made an introductory speech, Chhotu Kotangle conducted the programme and Krishna Chaudhari proposed the vote of thanks.
