Gadchiroli Sept. 11 (District Correspondent) If scientific approach is inculcated among the students, it will produce hundreds of scientists. The teachers have to do this task.
This was stated by Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, State Co-ordinator of Maha Annis’s Scientific Education Project Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti while speaking in a programme organized at Veer Baburao Shedmake Higher Primary School here to eradicate superstition among students the other day.
Mrs. Kusumtai Bhoyar, Principal of the school presided over the program while Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, State Co-ordinator of Maha Annis’s Scientific Education Project and Mr. Upendra Rohankar, senior activist were present as chief guides.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Nimborkar said that there is a reason behind every action and miraculous events. It is important to explain the science behind the phenomenon to children. Even if you can’t answer it in time, that’s fine. But if a science teacher can be asked and his students can know the answers, then they will not fall into any Baba’s trap, he added.
After demonstrating the experiments in simple language that the students could understand, Mr. Rohankar asked questions and elicited answers from them. Don’t be afraid of ghost any more. There is no such thing as ghost. But in childhood, our parents or grandparents tell us stories of ghosts and impress on us how scary ghosts are, then we believe the same to be true and keep telling it to others. In fact, no ghosts exist anymore and no one will see them, he said.
Vilas Nimborkar and Rohankar enthralled the students, teachers and parents by showing various demonstrations on superstition and miracles on the occasion.
Ms. Nisha Sahala moderated the program and vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Kusumtai Bhoyer. Ms. Madhuri Mhaske and Mr. Limesh Jambhule made efforts to organize the program successfully.
