Gadchiroli Oct. 13 (District Correspondent) Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Dhammakranti was a revolution of a new way of life. Due to this Dhamma revolution, a new era began in the life of Dalits and there was a radical change in their lives, said famous Ambedkari thinker Dr. Prem Kumar Khobragade appealing that efforts should be made to hoist the flag of Dhammakranti more vigorously.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din program organized in the premises of Samyak Buddha Vihara at Gokulnagar in association with Samyak Samaj Samiti, Visakha Mahila Mandal and Samyak Senior citizens Association.
President of Samyak Samaj Samiti Hansraj Undirwade presided over the program while Republican leader Rohidas Raut, Medical Officer Dr. Khushal Durge, Haridas Kotarange of Mali Samaj Sangathan, Kawduji Undirwade of Senior citizens Association, Chandrakala Tembhurne of Visakha Mahila Mandal were mainly present on the dais.
Dr. Khobragade further said Dr. Ambedkar made people aware of human rights. By arousing self-esteem in them, he gave a new path of Buddha and transformed the silent man into an enlightened India. His work is unparalleled and only in this direction of Dhamma, the welfare of the human society will be benefited.
Mr. Rohidas Raut said that the Dhamma of Buddha has reached all over the world today because of its values. It is a matter of great pride for Buddhists that the Dhamma path is being followed abroad too. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s historic revolution has benefited all mankind today. Dhammachakra Pravartan is a miraculous work done by Babasaheb and the transformation it has brought about in the lives of Dalits is a very proud matter.
The other distinguished guests also delivered speeches on this occasion. Mr. Gautam Meshram made an introductory speech, Ms. Namita Waghade moderated the programme and Ashwini Sakhre gave the vote of thanks. A large number of Buddhist brothers and other citizens attended the event.
Dhamma chakra Pravartan Din programmes were also celebrated at various other places in the city including Shiv Nagar, Vivekanand Nagar, Ram Nagar, Phule Ward, Complex etc with the hoisting of Panchasheel Flags and reciting Buddha Vandanas.
