Gadchiroli June 16 (District Correspondent) A ‘Krishi Melawa’ was organized by the police and the agriculture department of Korchi Panchayat samiti recently at village Kodgul.
The programme was inaugurated at the hands of Ms. Manjusha Kumre, Sarpanch of Kodgul. Mr. Dhannajay Kulkarni, PSO presided while Mr. Ramesh Naitam, ex Sarpanch, Meerabai Dushkanwar, soial worker, Dewanand Fulzele, Extension Officer (Agriculture) were prominently present.
The paddy seeds were distributed among the farmers from the remote areas like Gangin, Adjal, Pratapgad, Nadekal, Deulbhatti, Dholdongri, Sonpur, Pitesur, Alondi etc.
The agriculture officials Dewanand Fulzele, Dnyaneshwar Masram, Pramod Amborkar, Pramod Dhait guided the farmers on paddy cultivation and various government schemes. The demonstrations of paddy cultivation were also given to the farmers.
Panchayat Samiti- Meanwhile, the Agriculture Department of Korchi Panchayat Samiti also distributed paddy seeds among the farmers on 50 percent subsidy for the cultivation in the current kharif season.
The initiative was taken by Mr. Pradeep Tumsare, Agriculture Development Officer of Zilla Parishad to provide the paddy seeds to the farmers in remote areas on time so that they could cultivate their land properly.
The bags of paddy seeds were distributed to the farmers at the hands of Mr. Virendra Chaudhari, Accounts and Finance Officer of the Zilla Parishad. Ms. Renu Chaudhari, Agriculture Officer, Dewanand Fulzele, Extension Officer (Agriculture) of Panchayat Samiti, Sanjay Meshram, Assistant finance Officer, Umesh lohkare, Administrative Officer were prominently present.
The 45 quintals of MTU 1010 variety of paddy have been made available for the farmers in Korchi taluka on 50 percent subsidy this year. The Block Development Officer of Panchayat Samiti Rajesh Faye has appealed the farmers to take their seeds on time and cultivate the best quality seeds.
