Gadchiroli June 13 (District Correspondent) Panchayat Samiti Bhamragarh has launched a campaign ‘Mission Puna Aaki’ i.e. ‘Mission New Begining’ under the aspirational taluka program in order to solve the problems by providing Aadhaar card and birth certificate on the spot to the citizens in the remote areas of taluka and to create awareness on women’s health.
Most of the citizens of Bhamragarh taluka do not have Aadhaar card and birth certificate, so they face difficulties in availing government schemes. As they are not able to go the taluka to get these documents, people avoid it. As a result, many beneficiaries are deprived of the benefits of government schemes. Also, issues related to women’s health such as menstrual hygiene, child marriage and institutional delivery are also serious. Recognizing this problem, Panchayat Samiti Bhamragarh has started this campaign under the guidance of Zilla Parishad CEO Ayushi Singh and BDO Swapnil Magdoom.
Under this campaign, important documents like Aadhaar card, birth certificate, marriage registration certificate, bank account are being given to the people by holding a one-day camp in all Gram Panchayats in Bhamragarh in the month of June. Forms are being filled giving information about important schemes. Also, awareness is being done on women’s health and rights by presenting plays in Madia language.
So far, the ‘Mission Puna Aaki’ campaign has been implemented in Dhodraj, Mallampodur, Visamundi, Binagunda, Nelgunda, Gongwada and Halodandi. In the month of June, this campaign will be implemented in 13 other places namely Palli, Kothi, Poyarkothi, Hodri, Laheri, Yechli, Mannerajaram, Madveli, Jinjgaon, Irakdumme, Halwer, Tekla and Arewada.
Under ‘Mission Puna Aaki’, a camp was recently organized on June 6 in Binagunda, a remote village situated in the hills and dense forest. To set up this camp, the supplies had to be painstakingly brought the previous day by tractors.
A street play ‘Askana Adhikar, Vijay Kikal’ was performed in Madiya language about women’s health and rights. Awareness about diseases caused to women due to lack of knowledge about menstrual hygiene, health effects of child marriage, malnourished children, importance of delivery in medical hospital, impact on the health of menstruating women due to traditional practices etc was created through this street play.
Under this initiative, 783 certificates, 116 new Aadhaar cards, 357 Aadhaar updates, 937 health check-ups and 61 new bank accounts were prepared.
The officials of Panchayat Samiti and Gram Panchayat, Gram Sevak, Aspirant Taluka Fellow, Health Inspection Team, Rozgar Sevak, Asha Worker, Anganwadi Sevika, and artists are all playing an important role to make this campaign successful.
Speaking about the campaign, Ms. Ayushi Singh told that the government documents, especially Aadhaar card, bank account, caste certificate and birth certificate are important for availing any government scheme. Panchayat Samiti Bhamragarh has undertaken a commendable initiative of door-to-door delivery of these documents and creating awareness regarding women’s health under the Aspirational Taluka Program and that will certainly be useful for the people.
