Gadchiroli May 29 (District Correspondent) Though the elderly person from village Rampur died after the outbreak of dengue in Rampur village in Chamorshi taluka, the health administration has claimed that the death has not occurred due to dengue but due to another ailment.

After the outbreak of the disease, health department has come on active mode and has started taking various measures. Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Ayushi Singh has asked the officials to quickly stop the spread of dengue disease in the village.

Preventive measures have been intensified at village that has been suffering from outbreak of dengue. The health department officials have started house visits in the village and carried out a dengue survey. Blood samples of suspected dengue patients were collected and examined at Rural Hospital Ashti. At the end of 27th May, 18 patients have been found dengue positive in NS1 test.

Death of an elderly person in the village has caused due to chronic illness and not due to dengue, health department has claimed. The patient did not have any symptoms of dengue. He had diabetes, high blood pressure and was suffering from paralysis for two years, it has been told by Dr. Pratap Shinde, District Health Officer.

The process of releasing gappi fish in all the private and public unused wells and other places of mosquito breeding has been started. Proper disposal of broken cans, waste tyres, cups, pots etc. found are being disposed off. Also, nets are being tied to the vent pipe of toilets.

Temiphos was sprayed at the mosquito breeding sites and fogging was also done by the teams for prevention of dengue disease. Regular mosquito survey, inspection, treatment, integrated pest management and public awareness is being created in the village. Villagers are being given necessary directives to stop mosquito breeding.
