Gadchiroli Jan. 27 (District Correspondent) Until now, many difficulties had to be faced while doing developmental works as the district has more remote areas. But now the situation is changing. Naxalite ideologies now is being expelled from the district and citizens of remote areas are accepting the democratic values ​​and governance. That is why the district is now moving towards development, asserted District Collector Sanjay Meena while addressing the Republic Day programme on the police grounds here.

At the outset, a national flag was hoisted at the hands of Mr. Meena. MLA Dr. Devrao Holi, Chief Executive Officer Ayushi Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Kumar Chinta, Yatish Deshmukh, Additional Collector Dhanaji Patil, RDC Sunil Suryavanshi were prominently present.

Mr. Meena further said now citizens are joining the main stream of development by accepting various government schemes. Currently, a huge amount of investment is going on in the industry. A Bharatmala project costing Rs. 82.15 crores is going through the district, Samrudhi Highway is also proposed by the state government in the district. Also, 52.68 km Wadsa – Gadchiroli Broad Gauge Railway is also being laid down by spending Rs. 1888 crore. told Mr. Meena.

A greenfield airport will be constructed at a distance of 4 km from District Headquarters. Also, the academic session of the Government Medical College is starting from the next year, Meena informed.

The benefits have been distributed to 6.97 lakh beneficiaries of Gadchiroli under ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ programme.  Chief Minister Women Empowerment Programme, benefits have been distributed to 2.70 lakh beneficiaries. First instalment has been given to 1.56 lakh farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana. District Disability Assistance Program was noted at the national level and the district was honoured at the hands of the President.

As many as 605 new towers have been approved. A state-of-the-art Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training Centre has been launched recently by spending Rs. 170 crores.

On this occasion, those who performed well in various fields were felicitated. They included Gondwana University Vice Chancellors Dr. Prashant Bokare, Prashant Shirke, Mahendra Ganvir, Sandeep Karade, Nilesh Teltumbde, Ajay Bodne, Munshi Masa Madavi of Police Department, Mohan Lacchu Usendi, Mohit Bodele, Jayant Raut, Arya Thaware, Diksha Walke, Sachin Rohankar, Aniket Bhurse, Sanjana Yelekar, Pratik Ramteke, Uma Sahare, Himandri Gayan.

A large number of citizens attended the programme.
