Disaster Friend training started for 300 youths.

Gadchiroli Dec. 21 (District Correspondent) Administration as well as common citizens help in large scale in disaster situation without any kind of selfishness or publicity and people’s lives are saved in flood situations. In the same way you should act as a disaster friend without selfishness.

This was advised by District Collector Sanjay Meena while inaugurating the disaster friend training program at the collectorate here the other day. Disaster-friendly training is being organized in 20 districts of the state by Maharashtra State by Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority.

The Collector said to the trainees that everyone should benefit from the training in disaster management at the local level. We should also play a valuable role along with the administration by participating.  They should keep themselves prepared during the flood situation, wild fires, earthquake, accident and other such calamities in the district. At this time, disaster friends should play their role, he appealed.

Resident Deputy Collector Samadhan Shendge, Additional Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Bhuyar, Tehsildar Mahendra Ganveer, Principal Hemlata

Chaudhary, Executive Engineer Mr. Usendi, Addl. District Health Officer Sanjay Jathar, District Disaster Management Consultant Krishna Reddy, District Disaster Management Officer Nilesh Teltumbde were prominently present.

The said training program is being implemented in Gadchiroli district by the

Disaster Management Authority, New Delhi, State Disaster Management Authority, Maharashtra State as well as District Disaster

Management Authority in association with Collectorate Gadchiroli. The first batch started at the Govt. Science College. The said training is being imparted to a total of 300 disaster friends in the district, especially in the villages along the rivers. The said training is of 12 days residential nature. The trainees who have undergone the said training will be provided disaster kit, certificate and identity card to work in disaster management. All the trainees will be insured by the government for 5 lakh rupees for 3 years. The said insurance will be increased further, it was told.
