Gadchiroli Aug. 31 (District Correspondent) Informing that that as many as 367 physically disabled married couples in the district have not received their financial assistance from the government since the year 2020, Vidarbha Vikalanga Sangathana, a social organization attached to well-known NGO ‘Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi’ has demanded early distribution of the financial assistance.
According to Social justice and Special Assistance Department’s GR dated 17 th June 2014, a financial assistance is given to the physically disabled couples under ‘Vivah Protsahan Yojna’. The ambitious scheme has been started to promote and encourage the marriages of the physically disabled people. However, this important scheme has remained on papers in the district and as many as 367 couples have been waiting for their financial assistance till date, said Mr. Yashwant Patankar, President of the Sangathana in a statement issued here today.
The married couples have been visiting the concerned office frequently with the hope that they might get the assistance one day or the other but they have to go back empty handed and not been given the assistance till now, said the statement. The government department is not at all serious about the implementation of the scheme, it has been alleged.
All the proposals of the financial assistance which have been pending since 2020 should be sanctioned immediately and the couples be paid their long due financial assistance, Sangathana has demanded.
Vidarbha Viklang Sangathana has been formed for solving the issues of the physically disabled persons, fighting for their rights, reaching various government schemes to them and making them self-reliant, it should be mentioned here.
