Gadchiroli, Oct. 5 (District Corrspondent) The Maharashtra government is committed to the preservation and promotion of Zadipatti art and it is the responsibility of the government to provide royal patronage to this art, asserted the Co-Guardian Minister of the district, Adv. Ashish Jaiswal.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the fifth Zadipatti Natya Sammelan organized at Desaiganj on Saturday. Senior dramatist Prin. K. Atmaram was the chairman of the conference, MLA Ramdas Masaram was the chairman of reception committee, humorist Bharat Ganeshpure, Padma Shri Dr. Parashuram Khune, Prof.  Shekhar Dongre, former MLA Krishna Gajbe, Narendra Gadekar, Dr. Sachin Madavi were prominently present.

Adv. Jaiswal further said, the state government is standing strong behind the Zdipatti theatre. It is our collective responsibility to preserve the glory of this art even in this digital world of TV and mobile. The government is fully committed to this. The District Planning Committee has approved a fund of Rs. 10 lakhs for the sammelan, he informed and assured that efforts will be made to resolve the issues of honorarium, insurance scheme and well-equipped theatre for Zdipatti artists and also necessary funds to set up an air-conditioned theatre at Desaiganj.

State government’s Cultural Affairs Department has recently approved Rs. 23 lakhs for the Zdipatti festival and the program will be organized soon, he also assured, appealing the artists to prepare concrete proposals for all these matters.

Mr. K. Atmaram said everyone is equal on stage. Be it the hero or the background artist, every role has importance. A play is successful only when a collective impact is created in the minds of the audience. Cultivate the attitude of an artist not only in acting but also in living. A true artist is the one who considers life to be a beautiful play, he stated.

Film actor Bharat Ganeshpure said in his speech Zadipatti is a capable theatre. It is necessary for everyone to make joint efforts to maintain the tradition of this art.

Mr. Masram demanded that honorarium be given to Zadipatti artists and a theatre be set up. Former MLA Krishna Gajbe requested the government to sanction a fund of Rs. 10 crores for a theatre in Wadsa.

Dr. Aniruddha Bankar made an introductory speech and presented demands for the development of Zdipatti theatre such as health insurance, honorarium and theatre.

The drama lovers and artists participated in this sammelan in large numbers.
