Gadchiroli Dec. 13 (District Correspondent) An anti-landmine vehicle of the Gadchiroli Police Force crushed a two-wheeler, killing one person on the spot and seriously injuring another at around 3:30 pm today between Lagam and Chaudampalli villages on Ashti-Allapalli road.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Bajirao Madavi (33), a resident of village Lagam in Mulchera and the injured as Ravi Hanumantu Madavi (30) also a resident of Lagam.
According to reports, the anti-landmine vehicle of the Gadchiroli police force, number MPV 285, coming from Aheri towards Ashti, hit a two-wheeler, number MH 33 X 3307, going from Ashti towards Lagam, between Lagam and Chaudampalli. In this accident, Ganesh Madavi, who was riding a two-wheeler, died on the spot while Ravi Madavi was seriously injured.
Upon receiving the information of the incident, Police Inspector Vishal Kale of Ashti Police Station and his team rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to the rural hospital of Ashti for treatment. Since Ravi Madavi’s condition was critical, he was sent to a hospital in Chandrapur for further treatment. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
Ganesh is married and has a 20-day-old daughter. Ganesh’s accidental death has devastated his family.
