Gadchiroli Sept. 30 (District Correspondent) The Gadchiroli District Youth Congress has today lodged a complaint against the spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party Pintu Mahadev for openly threatening to kill the Congress leader and Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi and has demanded stern action against Mahadev.
The Congress workers went to the Gadchiroli Police Station under the leadership of Gadchiroli chimur Lok Sabha MP Dr. Namdeo Kirsan and Youth Congress National Secretary Adv. Vishwajeet Kowase and lodged this complaint.
On September 27, 2025, in a live discussion on News18 Kerala channel, Mr. Pintu Mahadev threatened that “Rahul Gandhi will be shot in the chest”. This shocking, deliberate and direct threat to kill was not made in private, but was made on a public platform, in front of the entire country, in a live discussion. Therefore, the seriousness of this act has increased even more. This is not just a threatening statement, but a direct criminal fear-mongering, which poses a threat to democracy and public order, said the complaint.
This statement clearly shows that the BJP has tried to take the politics of hate to the extreme. This is not just a political statement, but an open call for the assassination of the opposition leader, who is the voice of the youth of India and holds a constitutional post, it further stated.
Mr. Rahul Gandhi is already on the high-level security threat, as is evident from repeated reports from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). In such a context, if a spokesperson of the ruling party says on live television that “Rahul Gandhi will be shot in the chest”, it should not be considered a mere political statement but the beginning of a serious criminal conspiracy. This broadcast threat is a blatant and obvious crime. If the police do not take action in this matter, it will be considered passive participation in the crime, said the complaint.
Threatening Rahul Gandhi is an attempt to silence the voice of millions of Indians. This is not just an attack on one individual, but on the entire democratic system. Mr. Rahul Gandhi is not just a Congress leader, but the voice of the country’s youth and the Constitution. The threat given against him is an attack on India’s democratic values, added the complaint.
District Youth Congress President Nitesh Rathod, Congress Committee Vice President Anil Kothare, City President Satish Vidhate, Vivek Ghongde, Abhijit Dhait, Aniket Raut, Praful Amborkar, Milind Barsagade, Rajnikant Motghare, Vipul Yelatiwar, Gaurav Yenpreddiwar, Lalaji Satpute, Ashish Vadhai, Chaitanya Boluwar, Tanmay Wadettiwar, Krish Sangidwar, Praful Pal, were present while lodging the complaint.
