Gadchiroli March 8 (District Correspondent) Women can take right decisions on their own and also justify those decisions. Women are coming forward in every field of life with their wisdom and ability and have been proving that they too can stand firmly in the society.
This was stated by Prof. Sandhya Yelekar, social worker and former senate member while addressing the International Women’s Day programme organized jointly by Bouddha Mahasabha and Vishakha Mahila Mandal at Samyak Buddha Vihara Hall this afternoon.
Ms. Surekhatai Barsagae, senior social worker presided over the programme while Adv. Jumnake, Ms. Shital Bhaisare, Aruna Raut were the chief guests.
Ms. Yelekar further said the Indian women have got an ideal of the great women like Rajmata Jijau, Savitrimai Phule and Mata Ramai who sacrificed their lives for the society. The women should therefore take inspiration from these women and work for the betterment of women.
In her presidential speech Ms. Surekha Barsagade said women have fighting spirit and inborn capacity to struggle. After a long struggle women have got their rights. The struggle to safeguard these rights should be continued.
Adv. Jumnake, Ms. Sheetal Bhaisare, Aruna Raut also expressed their views on the occasion. Ms. Najrika Mashakhetri made an introductory speech, Ms. Sumitra Raut conducted the programme and Manisha Walke proposed the vote of thanks.
Ms. Sanjeevani Wankhede, Madhuri kotangale, Jyoti Urade, Kiran Urade, Pornima Durge, Borkar presented songs on the occasion. Archana Bhaisare, Archana Tembhurne, Chandrakala Tembhurne, Leela Kotangle, Shashikala Sahare, Yamina Bhaisare and others took pains for the success of the programme. A large number of women attended the programme.
