Gadchiroli Aug. 14 (District Correspondent) Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar was accorded grand felicitation by Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Sunday on his first arrival to the city after assuming the coveted post.

Mr. Wadettiwar was profusely garlanded and was welcomed with loud fire crackers and playing of drums as soon as he reached Indira Gandhi square of the city. He was then taken into procession in an open jeep that moved through the main streets and reached the Rajiv Sabhagriha where public felicitation programme was held in presence of thousands of workers and citizens.

Mr. Marotrao Kowase, senior Congress leader and former MP presided over the programme while Mr. Abheejit Wanjari, MLC, Sudhakar Adbale, MLC, Dr. Namdeo Usendi, Dr. Namdeo Kirsan, both General Secretaries of the pradesh congress committee, Mahdnera Bramhanwade, District Congress committee, Anandrao Gedam, Dr. Ramkrishna Madavi, ex MLAs, Bandopant Mallelwar, Ajay Kankadalwar, ex ZP chief, Pankaj Guddewar, Dr. Nitin Kodwate, Dr. Chanda Kodwate, state secretaries, Ms. Shivani Wadettiwar, General Secretary of Maharashtra youth Congress, Surendrasingh Chandel, of Shiv Sena, Adv. Kavita Mohorkar, district womens congress president, were prominently present.

Addressing the gathering Wadettiwar strongly lambasted at the center and the state governments for ignoring the real issues of the comman people and indulging in the divisive politics of caste and religion and said INDIA will come into power at both the centre and the state in the coming general elections. Comman people, youths, traders, women are quite fed up with the policies and performance of these governments and they will certainly teach a lesson to the ruling party and will seat the INDIA block consisting the Congress and other parties in the power, he stated.

The leaders involved in corruption have chosen the way of ‘lotus’ and have been badly entangled in the deep mud and will not be in a position to come out of it, he commented without anybody. The loyal workers have certainly better days ahead, he added.

Mr. Marotrao kowase, Suresh Poreddiwar and other leaders spoke on the occasion and extended their best wishes to Wadettiwar for his further political career. In Mr. Wadettiwar, Maharashtra has got a fighter opposition leader and he will raise his voice for the comman people. His leadership will also help in solving the developmental issues of the district, they hoped.

Adv. Rambhau Meshram made an introductory speech and Satish Vidhate proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of workers from Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP attended the programme.
