Gadchiroli Nov. 29 (District Correspondent) Under the district fund grant, the farmers of the Korchi taluka were distributed vegetable seeds mini kits the other day.
The seeds were distributed at the hands of Mr. Rajesh Faye, Block Development Officer and Devanand Fulzele, Extension Officer (Agriculture) of Panchayat Samiti, Korchi under the guidance of Mr. Rajendra Bhuyar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Kiran Khomane, District Agricultural Development Officer and Pradeep Tumsare, Agricultural Development Officer, Zilla Parishad.
This will help the increase in vegetable cultivation in the Korchi taluka and the other farmers will also be encouraged to cultivate vegetables in their fields that will grow their financial income.
The vegetable seeds kits worth Rs. 250 were distributed to more than 50 farmers in Korchi taluka in just a nominal amount of Rs. 25 on 90 percent subsidy to increase the production area in taluka.
In order to protect the farmers of the taluka from domestic animals and wild animals, thick wires are also planned to be distributed under 13- forests grant and 7 percent forest revenue subsidy scheme to 20 farmers at 75 percent subsidised rates. Similarly, to prevent damage to the crop due to unseasonal rains, a subsidy of Rs. 3,500 per 1 tarpaulin will be paid to 12 farmers on 75 percent subsidy. The subsidy will be transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts. Farmers are being urged to increase their production and income by cultivating vegetable crops, informed Mr. Dewanand Fulzele, Extension Officer of Panchayat Samiti, Korchi.
