
Gadchiroli Feb. 12 (District Correspondent) Various important resolutions were passed unanimously in the state level biennial convention of Maharashtra State Backward Classed Electricity Workers Association (MSBCEWA)- affiliated to Swatantra Mazdoor Union (SMU).
The two-day convention was held in the main presence of SMU national president J. S. Patil and chaired by MSBCEWA president Dr. Sanjay Ghodke at R. K. Celebration Hall of the city. Working President Mr. Sanjay More, General Secretary Premanand Mourya, Legal Advisor Narendra Jaronde, Chief Organizer Suryakant Janbandhu, Advisor Raju Gaikwad were prominently seated on the dais.
The resolutions passed after a detailed deliberations in the concluding session of the convention included-implement the Supreme Court judgement of 28 Jan. 2022 and provide reservation in promotion to SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, SBC and put it in the IX th schedule, provide reservation to OBCs as per Nacchipan Commission recommendations, stop privatization of public sector and provide reservation in such industries transferred to private companies, stop passing of electricity bill 2022 in parliament which aims for privatization of power distribution companies.
The resolutions further included- amend all four Labour Codes in favour of employees and employees unions, provide recognition to Independent Labour Union and Independent Vidyut Employees Federation which represents majority of backward classes employees in the country, revise EPS 95 pension scheme as per directives of the Supreme Court, grant pension to the workers in unorganized sector who attain the age of 60 years, the Supreme Court judgement of 1-8-2024 is against the basic structure of the constitution so far as the concept of representation to backward classes is concerned etc.
The resolutions were read out by Mr. Premanand Mourya in the concluding session and were declared to have been passed unanimously amidst the thunderous applauses. The Swatantra Mazdoor Union and Maharashtra State Backward Classes Electricity Workers Association will continue its fight to get these demands fulfilled by the government, it was declared by Mr. J. S. Patil.
The convention was attended by over 4,000 representatives from across the state.
