Gadchiroli Aug. 16 (District Correspondent) A strong discontent has prevailed among the unemployed youths in the district over the ‘unjust’ recruitment of Talathis being made by the state government.

The state government had issued an advertisement on June 26 last for filling up 158 posts of Talathis in the district. The last date of filing applications for this recruitment was July 25. Accordingly large number of youths applied for these posts by duly paying the fees of Rs. 1,000.

In this advertisement151 posts were reserved for the PESA area and 7 for the non PESA areas. Out of these 7 posts, 4 were reserved for the OBCs, 1 for EWS and 2 posts were unreserved. No any posts were reserved for the other categories.

However, a fresh advertisement was issued on July 24 in which total posts were reduced to 138 from the earlier 158. Under this advertisement, 114 posts were reserved for the PESA area, 6 for EWS, 15 for the OBCs and not a singly post for the un reserved candidates. No any specific reason was mentioned for cancelling the unreserved posts.

Many of the candidates had applied for the unreserved posts as per earlier advertisement but as these posts have been suddenly cancelled, the youths who had applied for these posts are quite discontented as they have been put to injustice. Their fees also, which the candidates had paid with much difficulty owing to their poor financial condition, has also gone waste.

The candidates belonging to the other reserved categories such as Scheduled Castes also are quite disappointed as they have not got any reservation in this recruitment. The unemployed youths have been demanding that the recruitment be done by giving due representation to all the categories as per law.
