Two students drowned in Malermal lake water.

Chamorshi April 24 (District Correspondent) Two school children from village Maler Mal near Kunghada in Chamorshi taluka, were drowned in a lake last afternoon.

The names of the deceased students are Rajat Santosh Mohurle, (13), and Asitva  Mandale, (12), both the residents of Malermal.

According to reports, the two children were going to eat mangoes around noon. Meanwhile, when they saw water in the lake near the village, they entered the lake to take a bath and drowned as they could not assess the depth of water.

Rajat, the only son of Santosh Mohurle, a farm labourer from Malermal village was studying in class 7 at Vishwashanti Vidyalaya in Kunghada, and Astitva Astitva, the son of a farmer was studying in class 6 at the village school. Both of them went to the lake area around noon with the intention of eating mangoes. Unable to resist the temptation to bathe in the lake, they entered the water for a bath.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, Chamorshi police reached the spot. The two children were taken out of the lake and taken to the Primary Health Centre in Kunghada from where they were referred to Gadchiroli for autopsy. The loss of the little ones has spread grief in the family and the village.
