Gadchiroli Aug. 12 (District Correspondent) The last rites were performed upon a 4-year-old tigress that had died in a collision with a freight train on the Ballarpur-Gondia railway line near Gandhinagar village in Ekalpur reserve forest of Wadsa zone under Wadsa forest division this morning.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the forest officers, field staff, veterinary officer Dr. Kundan Podchalwar, Veterinary Officer of Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve, Chandrapur, Shri. Deepak P. Medikuntawar, Assistant Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Dr. Mrinal Tonge rushed to the spot.
When the spot was inspected, the said tigeress was found dead. The panchnama of the dead tiger was conducted and the dead tigeress was brought to the nursery at Wadsa. The veterinary officer and his team completed the process of dissection of the dead tiger. All the organs of the dead tigress were found. As per the rules of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, the dead tiger was burnt and destroyed.

Medikuntawar, Assistant Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Dr. Mrinal Tonge, Veterinary Officer and other officials.
