Gadchiroli Aug. 18 (District Correspondent) Panchayat Raj Vikas Manch has demanded enquiry into the alleged irregularities worth over Rs. 6 crores in Allapalli forest range area of the district.

The workers of the Manch have launched an indefinite ‘Thiyya Andolan’ in front of the conservator of Forest office here to press this demand but no any action has been taken so far by the authorities even after 10 days of the agitation. The agitation that was started on aug. 9 last, will now be intensified in the coming days, declared Mr. Yogaji Kudwe, District President of the Manch in a press conference in the agitation pandal on Thursday afternoon.

There has been a tremendous corruption in the purchase of goods and the other works done in the forest range. Large amount of money has been swallowed by the Allapalli RFO by way of bogus signatures on the payment register, it was alleged by Kudwe.

Several works like digging tcms, coups were done in Zimela, Talwada, Allapalli forest areas under Allapalli forest range and the money worth crores of rupees was swallowed by bogus signatures, it was alleged. Even after showing the documents of bogus signatures which were obtained through RTI, no any action has been taken against the erring officials, told Kudwe.

Now the workers will lock the office of the Conservator of Forest and will stage ‘Bhik Mango Andolan, Ghanta Naad Andolan’ in the coming days if no any action is taken soon, he warned. The conservator of forest had already assured us around two months back to take action in the issue after enquiry but no any action has been initiated which shows that the senior officers are shielding the officials involved in irregularities, Kudwe alleged.

The other workers of the Manch including Chandrashekhar Sidam, Shankar Dholge, Pranay Khune, Vilas Bhanarkar, Nilkanth Sandokar, Vilas shelote, Ravindra Selote were also present at the press conference.

Meanwhile, conservator of forest Ramesh Kumar told over phone that a three-member committee has been formed to enquire the matter and further action will be taken after the receipt of the report of this committee. The committee, which comprises the officers from the district itself, has been asked to submit its report within a week, he told.
