Gadchiroli Sept. 6 (District Correspondent) Teachers Day programme was celebrated at Samidha College of Civil Services here on Sept. 5 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
The programme was presided over by Mr. Kalidas Raut, President of the College. Mr. Tularam Raut, retired Education Extension Officer, Navin Verma, Manager of Canara Bank, Nilesh More, Prof. Tilesh Mohurle, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Prof. Pritam Kohpare, Ms. Sneha Mohurle, Madhukar Rohankar, Mithun Urade were prominently present.
If you look the journey of human being, you will notice that education plays a very important role in human life. Man has reached this stage of progress today through his continuing learning process and intelligence and teachers have important role in this transition of knowledge, said Mr. Kalidas Raut while delivering his presidential speech adding that teachers need to be given due respect in the society. Teachers are the real pillars of society, he added.
The other guests also expressed their views on the occasion and highlighted the importance of education and teachers in the society. Teachers Day is the real honour to the teachers, they observed.
A self governance programme was organized on the occasion in which college students played different roles and showed their skill. Ms. Sharvari Ranadive performed as the Principal, Ms. China Bhoyar and Suhani Ramteke as the Lecturers and Juhi Gordwar as a non-teaching staff. The program was moderated by Ms. Dipali Shende and vote of thanks was given by Nikita Gedekar.
A large number of students, teachers and college staff attended the programme.
