Gadchiroli March 13 (District Correspondent) A life size statue of Veer Baburao  Shedmake was unveiled by former MLA Krishna Gajbe at village Kondhala in Desaiganj taluka the other day to mark the birth anniversary of the great tribal revolutionary.

A Gondi conference was also organized on the occasion by Yuva Adivasi Seva Samiti. A grand procession was taken out through the main roads of the village in the presence of the chief guests, accompanied by playing drums and performing tribal dances.

A traditional muth puja was performed and the Gondi Dharma seven-colour flag was hoisted by the guests on the occasion.

Sarpanch of Kondhala Aparna Raut, former Women and Child Welfare Chairman Roshni Pardhi, tribal worker Mohan Singh Madavi Deputy, Dy.  Sarpanch Gajanan Selote, BJP Taluka President Sunil Pardhi, former Deputy Chairman Nitin Raut, Police Patil Kiran Kumbhalwar, Gram Sevak Meghna Raut, Pandhari Nakhate, Bhaskar Patre, Shriram Burade were also present at the programme as the chief guests.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Gajbe said, the tribal society is a nature-worshipping, pure environment-loving society. Even though many changes are happening in the world, the tribal society is progressing by preserving its culture. Therefore, the struggle of tribal society and great heroes, tribal culture is a guide and inspiration to the world. Society should progress with the inspiration of tribal heroes, he stated.

The statue of Veer Baburao Shedmake and his birth anniversary programme will inspire the youth and encourage them to work for the betterment of the society, he hoped. The biographies of great men should be reached every household, Gajbe appealed.

The other guests also spoke on the occasion and shed light on the life and heroic work of Veer Baburao Shedmake.

Mr. Aditya Puram made an introductory speech, Durgesh Aade conducted the program and Dinesh Puram proposed a vote of thanks. The villagers and community members were present at this program in large numbers.
