Gadchiroli Aug. 21 (District Correspondent) ‘The Independent Labour Union (ILU) has been working with the ideology of Phule- Shahu- Ambedkar and the principle of justice, equality, freedom and fraternity of the constitution, which is beneficial for the Bahujan officers and employees as well as organized and unorganized employees. This Union has been formed to bring justice to the workers and officials and everybody should make efforts to strengthen this union further’.

This was appealed by Mr. J.S. Patil, national president of the ILU while addressing a district level meet of the Union at Sanvidhan Sabhagriha here on Sunday.

Mr. D.N. Khaire, General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh ILU, Ashok Maske President of Chandrapur district, Shailesh Washimkar of Backward Classes Electricity Employees Association, S. Dongarwar Executive Engineer, MSEDCL, Gadchiroli, Devanand Phulzle, President, Gautam Meshram General Secretary of Gadchiroli district, Rajendra Gedam President Independent Samata Teachers Union, Chandrapur were were the chief guests.

Maharashtra State Backward Class Electrical Employees Union, Cast Tribe Transport Association, Independent Samata Shiksha Sangh, Independent Secondary and Higher Secondary Teachers Union, Independent Irrigation Employees Union, Independent Koylamjoor Union, Independent Zilla Parishad Employees Union, Independent Municipal Workers Union, Akashdarshan Association, BSNL Employees Union, Independent Postal Employees Union, Independent Anganwadi Employees Union, Masonry Workers Union, Independent Domestic Workers Union, Independent Electrical Contract Workers Union, Independent Municipal Workers Union, Independent Farmers and Agribusiness Workers Union etc are affiliated to this Union, informed Mr. Patil.

Currently, other trade unions working at the national level cannot provide justice to the backward classes and the workers in the organized and unorganized sector, so the Bahujan Officers and the workers should join the National Trade Union of Independent Mazdoor Union, appealed Mr. Patil.

The program started by garlanding the portraits of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and lighting candles and reading the Preamble of the Constitution and paying tributes to late prof. Hari Narke and Gadar.

Mr. Devanand Fulzele appealed everyone to work reasonably to run the organization. Introductory speech was delivered by Gautam Meshram, Jitendra Raipure conducted the proceedings and Manoj Gedam, Jayant Meshram proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Sanjeev Borkar, Dharmanand Meshram, Tularam Raut, Sujata Meshram, Venutai Khobragade, Lata Khobragade, Janakiram Ramteke, Vaishali Kamble, Sunita Gedam and others worked hard for the success of the program.
