Gadchiroli Dec. 8 (District Correspondent) If you want to win the war, sports from childhood are very important in life, because while joining the Army, the performance of the cadets in the field of sports is first checked, after which they are prepared by giving them complete training in the sports they like, said Lieutenant Colonel Vikram Mehta, while speaking at the prize distribution programme of the sports competition at Gondwana Sainiki Vidyalaya here the other day.

Mr. Sanjeev Gosavi, Principal of the school, presided over the programme while retired district sports officer Madan Tapre, state sports guide Nakish Uike, Vice Principal Omprakash Sangrame, Supervisor Ajay Wankhede, Head of Sports Department Bhupendra Chaudhari, Military Director Rishi Vanjari and Captain Shrikant Wargantiwar were prominently present.

Speaking further Col. Mehta said just as agility is required in sports, in border warfare too, agility, leadership, team cooperation qualities, etc. are required, then only it is possible to win the war. He appealed to the cadets of this school to join the army and serve the country.

Veer Savarkar House, which received the most prizes, was felicitated with the Champion Trophy on the occasion. The other winners were also given the prizes.

A person must have a healthy body to stay away from diseases. A healthy mind and intellect develop only from a healthy body. Sports are very important to keep the body healthy. Both the body and mind stay healthy due to sports. Playing sports develops courage, tolerance and human qualities in a person. There is no doubt that the students here are proficient in sports and will also reach the national level in the coming days, said Mr. Nakish Uike.

In his presidential address Prin. Gosawi said the sports lead to the all-round development of students, decision-making ability, empathy, discipline and cooperation are created, and a person becomes capable of doing any work. Players who perform valuable work in the field of sports will definitely benefit
