
Gadchiroli May 12 (District Correspondent) The Sironcha police have uncovered the thefts in the area and have nabbed the thieves. Akash Nagaya Kottapelli, (20), a resident of Kottapalli, Sironcha taluka has been arrested in this connection.
In the wake of thefts committed at various places in the district, Superintendent of Police Mr. Nilotpal and Additional SP Yatish Deshmukh have ordered to uncover theft crimes. In recent times, thefts have taken place at many places in Sironcha area. Under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge of Sironcha Police Station Samadhan Chavan, the suspects involved in various theft crimes. When he was immediately detained and thoroughly interrogated, he gave vague answers to the police about the items in his possession.
After the further interrogation, he confessed to committing a total of 11 thefts in the Sironcha police station limits and Asaralli area. The stolen items included electronic equipment, civil work materials, household items, clothes, mobile phones, etc. A large number of items worth Rs. 2,51,700/- were seized.
Since the investigation revealed that the accused is a habitual criminal and his involvement in seven different theft cases registered at Sironcha, he was arrested and he was produced before the Court, which granted him police custody remand. Further investigation of the said crime is being conducted by PSI Maroti Nande.
