Gadchiroli Feb. 24 (District Correspondent) The horse-drawn statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj installed by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mandal at Koregaon in Desaiganj taluka was unveiled by Mr. Prakash Poreddiwar, chairman of Nagari Sahkari Bank and in the presence of former MLA Krishnaji Gajbe the other day.
Mr. Kailas Dhondane, Range Forest Officer, BJP Taluka President Sunil Pardhi, Shankar Pardhi, Mohan Gaikwad, Chetan Maske, Sarpanch Ms. Kundatai Gaikwad, Dy. Sasarpanch Dhananjay Tirpude, Gopal Uike were prominently present.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Poreddiwar lauded the initiative of the villagers to install the statue of Shivaji Maharaj and said it will always remain a source of inspiration for the people. He also shed light on the heroic life of Shivaji Maharaj on the occasion.
Mr. Gajbe said Shivaji Maharaj’s bravery and heroism can never be forgotten. He made unparalleled struggle for the swaraj facing the enemies courageously. His ideals are really worth following. The other guests also expressed their views on the occasion and highlighted the life of the great Maratha warrior.
A large number of villagers attended the programme.
