Gadchiroli Sept. 28 (District Correspondent) To mark the birth centenary of the Republican movement leader and former Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Barrister Rajabhau Khobragade, a public felicitation of the senior Republican and Ambedkarite workers was held on behalf of the All-India Republican Party district unit at the Chemist Bhavan here the other day.
Republican Party District President Hansraj Undirwade presided over the program. Central Vice President Rohidas Raut, State Vice President Kulpati Meshram, senior Ambedkar activists Dharmaji Bambode, Manikrao Ture, Dr. Marotrao Raipure, Republican Party State Secretary Prof. Prakash Dudhe, Keshavrao Samrutwar, Assembly incharge Pradeep Bhaisare, Gautam Meshram of Sanvidhan Foundation, Prof. Gautam Dange of Bhartiya Buddhist Mahasabha, Mahila Aghadi Chief Neeta Sahare, Vanmala Zade were present as the chief guests.
On this occasion, more than 50 senior and elderly workers who worked loyally in the Republican Party and Ambedkarite movement were felicitated by the dignitaries with shawls, certificates and bouquets. Mr. Pralhad Dubey, Eknath Khobragade, Lalaji Undirwade, Keshari Raipure, Yadavrao Jambhulkar, Kavadu Undirwade, Ramdas Raut, Sakharam Lade, Narayan Bhaisare, Eknath Nandeshwar, Maniram Sorte were among the workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rohidas Raut proudly mentioned the contribution of Barrister Rajabhau Khobragade in the Republican movement and said that he had done an unparalleled job of spreading this movement throughout the country and raising the voice of the Dalit-exploited people and appealed to everyone to work to restore this movement to its past glory.
Other distinguished guests also gave information about the glorious history of the Republican movement and stressed the need to accelerate and strengthen this movement. The program was introduced by Prof. Prakash Dudhe, conducted by Pralhad Raipure and vote of thanks was done by Pradeep Bhaisare. Despite heavy rain throughout the day, activists from various parts of the district attended the program in large numbers.
Republican Party workers Ashok Khobragade, Hemant Sahare, Jagan Jambhulkar, Narendra Raipure, Punjaram Jambhulkar, Tailesh Bambole, Daryodhan Sahare, Sukhdev Wasnik, Ramesh Barsagade, Premendra Sahare, Bharat Jambhulkar, Chandrabhan Raut, Ramesh Shende and other activists worked hard to make the program a success.
Earlier a garland was offered to the portrait of Barrister Rajabhau Khobragade at Indira Gandhi Chowk in Gadchiroli. A large number of workers of the Republican Party as well as various social and religious organizations were present on this occasion.
