Gadchiroli: In tribal-dominated districts like Gadchiroli, technology like artificial intelligence (AI) has started being used in Maa Danteshwari Hospital, run by Dr. Abhay Bang’s ‘Search’ organization, to diagnose tuberculosis and various lung-related diseases. Maa Danteshwari Hospital diagnosed 88 tuberculosis patients in the year 2024-2025 through AI technology.

‘AI’ is being used effectively in Maa Danteshwari Hospital to diagnose some lung-related diseases. This system has been in use since 2023. This technology has been developed by a company called ‘Cure AI’. In the year 2024-25, 88 tuberculosis patients have been diagnosed by this hospital. After taking an X-ray of a patient’s lungs, it is uploaded to the ‘Cure AI’ software. After that, the risk of this patient having tuberculosis, rib fractures, microscopic diseases in the body, and dehydration is estimated. The doctor gets the patient’s report on their mobile app within seconds. So, the decision on further treatment and necessary tests can be taken immediately.

Data is at the heart of any ‘AI’. While developing this technology, the company concerned has used medical images on a large scale. Medical images include X-rays, MRIs, etc. From the data obtained from these images, AI models have been developed that predict the possibility of related diseases. While developing any technology for the medical sector, experts in the medical field are also involved.
