Gadchiroli Jan. 4 (District Correspondent) Samidha college of Civil Services run by Kimiya Education and Multipurpose Society affiliated to Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Ramtek, celebrated the 194th birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule in the college auditorium here on Friday.

President of the Society Kalidas Raut presided over the programme while Ms. Kalpana Raut, Prin. Manoj Dholane, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Prof. Pritam Kohpare were prominently present.

The portrait of Savitribai Phule was garlanded to mark the occasion. Many students shed light on the life of Savitribai Phule and presented songs. Among them were Harshali Sahare, Bhagyashree Urkude, Suhani Ramteke, Nalu Gurnule, China Bhoyar.

While delivering the presidential address, Mr. Kalidas Raut said that it was because of Savitribai that the education was available to women. Education is very important in human life and no one should be deprived of education. It is very important for students to build a career and contribute to the society and the country.

The program was introduced by Ankush Gohane, moderated by Sweety Bawne and the vote of thanks was given by Shivani Shende.

VISHAKHA MAHILA MANDAL–Savitribai Phule Jayanti was celebrated at Samyak Buddha Vihar Gokul Nagar by Visakha Mahila Mandal and Bharatiya Bouddha Mahasabha Women’s Branch. Ms. Sumitratai Raut, President Visakha Mahila Mandal presided while  Dr. Ankita Dhakade, Pornima Bhadke, Shashikala Sahare,  Archana Tembhurne were present for this program.

Savitribai Phule devoted herself to the education of girls by enduring tireless hardships, opposed superstitions, bad customs and traditions and dedicated her life to the oppressed and oppressed people. She raised her voice against the evil practices like Sati, depriving women of education, disfigurement of widows and ran a child care home for the widows and their children, said the speakers.

The songs on the lives of Savitribai Phule and Ramai Ambedkar were presented by Jyoti Urade, Sanjeevani Wankhede, Nazarika Mashakhetri and Monali Bhaisare.

The program was moderated by Ms. Aruna Raut, introduction was given by Nazarika Mashakhetri and the vote of thanks was given by Manisha Warke.

Ms. Damayanti Sahare, Pramila Mashakhetri, Maya Jambhulkar, Yashodhara Jambhulkar, Chanda Jambhulkar, Neeta Undirwade, Rekha Bhaisare, Priya Jambhulkar, Preeti Khobragade, Ujjwala Raut, Megha Ramteke, Sunanda Jambhulkar, Rupali Bhanarkar, Roshana Shimpi, Abhilasha Shimpi, Rekha Bhadke, Aishwarya Bhaisare, Hemlata Chaudhary, Satyabhama Kotangale, Sawanta Barsagade, Madhuri Kotangale contributed to the success of the program.
