Gadchiroli July 4 (District Correspondent) The tribal youths Seema Bajirao Madavi and Satish Bhaiyaji Kusram set an ideal before the society by solemnizing their marriage in a ‘Satyashodhak’ way keeping themselves away from the religious customs in a very simple way that has become a matter of discussion and appreciation in the city.

The portraits of great saints, social reformers and heroes including Lord Buddha, Sant Ravidas, Shivaji Maharaj, Maa Jijau, Birsa Munda, Mahtma Jyotiba Fule, Savitribai Fule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Ramabai Ambedkar, Veer Baburao Shedmake were put on the dais and these portraits were garlanded by the couple and the dignitaries to mark the beginning of the wedding.

After this an oath of accepting each other as the husband and wife was administered to the couple, the bride and the bridegroom garlanded each other and the wedding was declared to have been solemnized by Mr. Sunil Kawle. A wedding a certificate was then handed over to the newly wedded couple at the hands of well-known social workers Dr. Satish gogulwar and Ms. Shubhada Deshmukh.

The prominent guests were welcomed with the books on the life of social reformers by the parents of the couple. There was a huge crowd of the social activists, workers of different social and political organizations to extend best wishes to the couple.

Bhadke of Vishmata Nirmulan Dal, Kunal Kove of the Adiwasi Yuwa Parishad, Vilas Nimbolkar of Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti, Dharmanand Meshram, Raj Bansod, Adv. Sonali Meshram, Umesh Uike of Chhatra Bharti, Vishnukant Govindwad, Adinath Jadhav, Ijamsai Katenge, Mahesh Lade, Chetna Latkar and many others.

The ‘Satyashodhak’ wedding ceremony, which embodies the fundamental values ​​of equality, freedom, fraternity and scientific approach enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The marriage was performed without any fanfare. No band, no barat, no rituals, no priests, no dowry etc. The only thing was that the couple expressed their commitment to the Phule-Ambedkarite ideology and based on the values ​​of mutual respect, equality and social justice through an oath.

The decision of the couple and their parents provided a concrete impetus for change in the society. This marriage was not just a personal life event, but an ideological movement where the human values were not only pronounced, but also realized through action.
