Gadchiroli Dec. 16 (District Correspondent) The birth anniversary of Shri Santaji Jagnade Maharaj was celebrated by Santaji Smriti Pratishthan here recently.
Santaji Smriti Pratishthan President Prabhakar Wasekar presided over the programme while Gadchiroli MLA Dr. Milind Narote, Maharashtra Sales Tax Tribunal Chairman Justice Pramod Tarare, former MLA Dr. Devrao Holi, senior leader Baburao Kohle, Suresh Bhandekar, Pramod Pipere, Teli Mahasabha Working President Devaji Sontakke, Santaji Social Forum President Prof. Devanand Kamdi, Adv. Ramdas Kunghadkar, Santosh Khobragade, former civic chief Yogita Pipere were prominently present.
The newly elected MLA Dr. Milind Narote and Justice Pramod Tarare were felicitated on the occasion by presenting them shawl and coconut.
Speaking on the occasion Justice Tarare said even today, the thoughts of Santaji Maharaj are inspiring for the society and they are needed to be propagated among the people. Informing that he became a judge even though he belonged to a common family, he said that if every student sets a goal in life, that goal can be achieved. Unless the community comes together, there will be no progress.
Dr. Narote spoke on the great work of Santaji Maharaj and expressed the need of following his thoughts for the betterment of the society. He announced a fund of Rs 15 lakh to Santaji Smriti Pratishthan for its social activities. Mr. Pramod Pipre highlighted the need for the Teli community to show its strength through such public programs. The Teli community is scattered in many places in the country. Until the people of the community understand Santaji’s thoughts, the community will not progress, he added.
Mr. Rajesh Itankar, Vishnu Kamble, Suresh Nimborkar, Anil Kothare, Gopinath Chandewar, Bhagwan Thackere were also present on this occasion.
At the outset, Teli community members took out a grand procession in the city. Teli community president Ravindra Nimborkar, Ramesh Kamble, Mohan Divte, Manohar Bhandekar, Bhagwan Thackere, Ghansham Lakde, Prafulla Amborkar, Bhaiyaji Somankar worked hard to organize this program.
