Samidha College celebrates Annabhau Sathe’s birth anniversary.

Gadchiroli Aug. 2 (District Correspondent) The 105th birth anniversary of Sahitya Ratna Annabhau Sathe was celebrated at Samidha College of Civil Services Adapalli recently.

The programme was presided over by Mr. Manoj Dholane, Principal of the college. Prof. Vinod Kunghadkar, Prof. Ankush Gohane were prominently present.

Annabhau Sathe was a well-known social reformer, great poet, and writer. His writings were based on social and political activism. His literature was based on the plights of workers and backward classes.  He is credited as the founder of Dalit literature. He also played an important role in the Samyukta Maharashtra movement, said Prin. Dholne while speaking on the occasion.

Principal Dholane gave a detailed analysis of Annabhau Sathe’s work and achievements and said his contribution to society and the nation is very important.  B.A. first year student Roshni Meshram also expressed her views on the life of Annabhau Sathe. The other guests also spoke on the life of Annabhau Sathe.

The program was moderated by Prof. Pritam Kohpare and the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sunil Bhurse. A large number of students and staff members attended the programme.
